This session was about how to manage students fear and be empathetic while teaching snowboarding. The goal was to feel again what it is to be a beginner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the session our session leader talked about the stage of learnings being like a wheel with three main categories : exploratory, concentration and automatism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exploratory stage :<\/strong>
The students hear, see and do. When they start practicing they have the complete image in their head. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concentration stage :<\/strong>
The students are still practicing but are also thinking a lot about what they are doing.
They are identifying what they have to do and they know they have to make some ajustements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Automatism stage :<\/strong>
This is the stage where the student starts to feel what they have to do. Kinesthetic phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To <\/strong> “feel the struggle” <\/strong>our session leaders had us experiment a few uncomfortable exercises… They first give to all students a piece of foam material to place in our back foot binding against the high back and asked everyone to attached their back foot toe strap bindings only. We then all went for a magic carpet ride, at down at the top and strapped in like a beginner would do and then we slide down on the bunny hill. This was followed by side slipping on our toes with tow feet strapped in with the foams pieces in. Later on we took the chairlift up with loading and unloading with one foot attached and we also did some one one-foot attached turns on both sides. The last exercise was to help us feel the importance of our feet sensation and as everything starts from the feet in the Argentinian system. We had to put snow in our bindings and do a few turns like this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Argentine – Peur, empathie et snowboard<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette session portait sur la mani\u00e8re de g\u00e9rer la peur des \u00e9l\u00e8ves et d’\u00eatre empathique lors de l’enseignement du snowboard. L’objectif \u00e9tait de ressentir \u00e0 nouveau ce que c’est que d’\u00eatre un d\u00e9butant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pendant la session, notre animateur a parl\u00e9 de l’\u00e9tape de l’apprentissage comme d’une roue avec trois cat\u00e9gories principales : l’exploration, la concentration et l’automatisme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stade exploratoire :
<\/strong>Les \u00e9l\u00e8ves entendent, voient et essaient. Lorsqu’ils commencent \u00e0 pratiquer, ils ont une image compl\u00e8te dans leur t\u00eate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stade de concentration :
<\/strong>Les \u00e9l\u00e8ves pratiquent encore mais r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissent beaucoup \u00e0 ce qu’ils font.
Ils identifient ce qu’ils doivent faire et savent qu’ils doivent proc\u00e9der \u00e0 des ajustements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stade de l’automatisme :
<\/strong>C’est le stade o\u00f9 les \u00e9l\u00e8ves commencent \u00e0 sentir ce qu’ils doivent faire. On est dans a phase kinesth\u00e9sique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour \u00ab ressentir les difficult\u00e9s \u00bb<\/strong>, nos animateurs nous ont demand\u00e9 de faire quelques exercices inconfortables\u2026 Ils ont d’abord donn\u00e9 \u00e0 tous les \u00e9l\u00e8ves un morceau de mousse \u00e0 placer dans la fixation du pied arri\u00e8re contre le haut de l’appui-talon et ont demand\u00e9 \u00e0 chacun d’attacher uniquement la courroie des orteils du pied arri\u00e8re. Nous avons ensuite fait un tour de tapis magique, en descendant au sommet et en nous attachant comme le ferait un d\u00e9butant, puis nous avons gliss\u00e9 sur la piste d\u00e9butante en ligne droite. Nous avons ensuite d\u00e9rap\u00e9 sur les orteils avec les deux pieds attach\u00e9s \u00e0 la planche et toujours avec les morceaux de mousse plac\u00e9s derri\u00e8re les bottes. Plus tard, nous avons pris le t\u00e9l\u00e9si\u00e8ge avec le pied arri\u00e8re attach\u00e9 et nous avons \u00e9galement fait quelques virages avec un seul pied attach\u00e9 vers l’avant et en switch<\/em>. Le dernier exercice avait pour but de nous faire prendre conscience de l’importance de la sensation de nos pieds en mettant de la neige dans nos fixations et en effectuant quelques virages ainsi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
